What are the minimum hardware requirements for running the LVA?
To enjoy a smooth Linde Virtual Academy experience, you’ll need a modern VR headset — ideally with wireless streaming — or a powerful PC setup. You don’t need cutting-edge gaming hardware, but older office equipment or slow networks will cause issues. Here’s what you need to know in 2025.
Standalone VR (On-Device)
Supported headsets: Meta Quest 2, Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 3s.
- Wi-Fi: minimum stable 10 Mbps; recommended 20 Mbps+ and Wi-Fi 6/6E (5/6 GHz).
- Free storage: 10 GB minimum (better 20 GB+ if you use many trainings).
- App: Install LVA Training Hub from the Meta Quest Store (or provided by LVA Support).
- Power: fully charge the headset before a session.
PC-Based VR (PCVR)
Why: Higher visual fidelity and larger scenarios. Wireless streaming is preferred; USB-C cable is a fallback.
- Headset: Meta Quest 3 / 3s (recommended); compatible: Quest 2.
- Wireless streaming: Virtual Desktop (preferred) or Meta Quest Link (Air).
- Cable backup: USB-C 5 m minimum (10 m+ safer); use high-quality data cables.
Required software: Virtual Desktop (for wireless), SteamVR & Meta Quest Link (for cable).
Network & setup best practices (PCVR)
- PC via Ethernet; headset on Wi-Fi 6/6E (5/6 GHz band).
- Use a dedicated VR router/hotspot. Do not connect the PC via Wi-Fi in this setup.
- Avoid congested corporate/guest SSIDs; allow LVA platform & streaming services through firewalls/proxy.
