Start-up of a cryogenic pump
Cooling and starting a cryogenic pump in the field is a multi-step process. Operators have to carry out a preliminary inspection before preparing and initiating the cool-down process. Then, they have to start the pump and build up pressure. These steps must be executed in the correct sequence to prevent damage and ensure a safe and flawless start-up. In this training, trainees learn how to execute each of these steps. This includes checking that the pump can freely rotate, filling it with liquid and safely starting it.
Why take this course
Failure to carry out this task properly may result in a safety hazard that could harm people or damage the pump.
